Updated: 05/14/2013 - I'm still focused on meeting my goal of doing a pull-up. And I'm almost there! But I'm always getting this question:
A local family is keeping a close eye on their backyard after spotting a bobcat lounging in the family tree house a few days ago.
Jeanne Waneka lives in the Vista Grande neighborhood near Austin Bluffs Parkway and Academy Boulevard. She told 11 News her family sees wildlife fairly regularly, but this is the first time they’ve seen a bobcat near their home.
Waneka grabbed her video camera.
"I think he was napping...actually he was resting,” she said, describing the wildcat that can be seen snoozing in her video. “Then there were two squirrels that were going up the tree not realizing there was a sleeping bobcat. That was pretty awesome."
A spokesperson from Colorado Parks and Wildlife said Friday it's rare for a bobcat to ever attack humans, but they could get aggressive if they feel cornered. People are encouraged to always give the animals lots of room.
