A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. Folks are back in their homes in Black Forest, but the rebuilding process for those who lost their homes is just beginning.
Wednesday there was a meeting to organize and set up a system to help people as they recover from the fire. Subcommittees that will focus on various aspects of the clean-up and recovery process are forming.
People who need help immediately can visit the El Paso County Disaster Assistance Center. That's at the Classical Academy campus next to the Pikes Peak Community College Rampart Campus.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays.
