Thanks to a retired Fort Carson soldier who told me about this scam.
It showed up in his inbox earlier this month.

The email appears to be from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

It claims you've made a payment of $100.14 and says if you have any questions, click on a link.

But don't do it. I talked to authorities in Florida and they tell me it's a scam aimed at getting your banking information.

I'm told clicking on the link could infect your computer, giving the bad guys access to information you have stored there like your name, address, credit card, and other personal information.

To protect yourself make sure you have anti-virus software and keep it updated. Just remember, don't click on anything that doesn't look familiar.
