Hundreds of folks came together Sunday to raise money for families affected by the Black Forest Fire.

There was live music, food vendors and games at Challenger Middle School. People also had a chance to meet and thank some of the first responders who worked during the fire. 11 News talked with one of the organizers.

"When the fire started we really wanted to do something to help. It started off as just a really small BBQ idea in a parking lot and it grew to be this amazing event,” explained Christy Sorden.

All of the proceeds from the silent auction and donations will go to the victims of the Black Forest Fire. Tri-Lakes Cares will help distribute the money to those most in need.
