A man accused of abducting a young girl out of her bedroom was formally charged Tuesday.

John Snorsky, 26, was charged with second-degree kidnapping, burglary, enticement of a child, child abuse and third-degree assault. Investigators say DNA was found on the victim's clothing.

Snorsky is accused of climbing through an unlocked window into an 8-year-old girl's bedroom on the morning of Oct. 28 and trying to abduct her. Authorities say the girl was taken out of the home, but was able to get free by pinching the suspect. Her screams also alerted her father, who reportedly raced outside and saw his daughter running back towards him.

"She's a very brave young lady...kept her wits about her," an Aurora officer told reporters in a news conference Saturday. Police also praised her detailed description of the suspect.

Snorsky was arrested for the alleged kidnapping on Nov. 1, but had been in custody since Oct. 29 for an unrelated charge.
