Attack Kills Police Officers

Three police officers are dead after insurgents attacked a police station in Kabul, Afghanistan.

The attack started before dawn when a car bomb exploded outside the compound. Nine hours of fighting followed.

Interior Ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqi said five insurgents were killed. He said two suicide bombers were killed at the gate, another blew himself up inside the building and two others were killed by security forces before they managed to detonate their vests.

Fourteen people were injured, including four police officers and civilians.
