Man Accused of Criminal Mischief for Lock-Picking Appears in Court

The man accused of vandalizing several downtown Colorado Springs buildings appeared in court Wednesday.

Micheal Meriweather is being charged with felony criminal mischief.

Police say he put glue inside the locks of at least five buildings - including city hall and First Presbyterian Church.

When Meriweather appeared in his video advisement he asked to go back to his jail cell.
An arrest has been made in a series of vandalism incidents in downtown Colorado Springs.

Multiple businesses and government buildings suffered damage to their locations due to a substance that had been placed in the locks, causing them to malfunction.

Today, Michael Meriweather was arrested and charged with Class 4 Felony Criminal Mischief.

Any other businesses that may have been damaged to call CSPD at 719-444-7000.
