A woman was sexually assaulted on Christmas Eve of last year after police say she gave the suspect a ride from a nightclub to a motel in downtown Colorado Springs.

Nearly a year later, police have made an arrest. DNA evidence identified Matthew Grace, 22, as the suspect in the sexual assault.

The victim told officers that she assumed the suspect was a friend of a friend when clubbing with a group in the early morning hours of December 24. When she decided to leave, the suspect asked her for a ride, and sexually assaulted her upon arriving at the motel.

Grace is now being held at the CJC on a $50,000 bond.
