For the second time in a week, a man holds up a hotel in Colorado Springs, making off with cash.

On Saturday at 2:16 p.m., police say a middle-aged man walked into the MCM Elegante Suites at 6450 N. Academy, armed with a handgun, and robbed the front desk clerk. The robber took cash from the business in a tan metal box and was last seen walking south through the parking lot towards Janine Drive.

The hotel is located near Academy and Dublin.

Police say the suspect was a white man in his 40s to 50s, with a medium build wearing a dark blue windbreaker with a light blue horizontal stripe across the chest. His face was covered by a yellow bandanna and dark glasses, a dark gray winter hat with fur trim and fur ear flaps that were pulled down. Police also say he has a deep voice.

On Saturday November 24, a man with a similar description walked into the Quality Inn on I-25 and Garden of the Gods and held up the front desk clerk there.

If you know anything about this suspect or these crimes, call police at 719-444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 719-634-STOP.
