Resolution FAQ - (Stacia Naquin)
Updated: 05/14/2013 - I'm still focused on meeting my goal of doing a pull-up. And I'm almost there! But I'm always getting this question:
Armed with a shotgun, Lonn Rodin says he confronted and detained a burglary suspect who had broken into his home.
Rodin told 11News he originally thought the intruder was an animal. He grabbed the shotgun and followed it into the kitchen, where he found a juvenile crouched behind a counter around 3:28 a.m.
Rodin says the suspect was wearing a stocking cap and full-body tactical gear.
"Yeah, I was scared," he reflected. "I thought I'd be facing a gun."
Rodin held the suspect at gunpoint while he called 911.
"I told 911 I had a guy a gunpoint and they proceeded to ask questions and I asked them not to ask questions because I was busy," he said.
Colorado Springs Police Officers were sent to 2624 Oro Blanco Dr. and took custody of the suspect while Rodin put away his weapon. Police report they are continuing to investigate and Rodin says he thinks a a second intruder may have also been involved.
"I think there was a second person and they were in the basement," he said. "I am missing one of my guns with ammunition.
The name of the suspect is custody is not being released because of his age.
