A United flight to Denver had to be diverted when two passengers got into a fight over the reclining seats.
One passenger was using the Knee Defender, a $21.95 gadget that attaches to a passenger’s tray table and prevents the person in front of them from reclining.
United Airlines says it does not allow passengers to use the device. A flight attendant reportedly asked the man to remove it, but he refused. That's when the woman in front of him reportedly turned around and threw a cup of water in his face.
The flight was on its way from Newark, New Jersey to Denver. It was diverted to Chicago.
The flight continued to Denver without the pair and arrived 1 hour and 38 minutes late.
No arrest was made, but the FAA can impose a civil fine of up to $25,000 for passengers who become unruly.
