WESTMINSTER, Colo. (AP) -- Police say they found potential components of a pipe bomb in an apartment in the Denver suburb of Westminster.
A man has been detained for questioning.
The investigation began Friday after a woman told officials at her child's school that she was concerned about items the man had left in the apartment. The components may be legal, but police were concerned because the man's criminal history involving explosives.
Four buildings at an apartment complex near 82nd and Federal in Westminster were evacuated. Authorities lifted the evacuations after determining there were no bombs.
Meanwhile, Denver police say a suspicious package discovered near Colorado's main judicial building Friday was inspected and found to be harmless.
The building, which includes the state Supreme Court, was locked down for about an hour and a busy street was closed. Both have been reopened
