The suspects at the center of a horrifying child abuse case out of Denver will not be allowed to visit their children.

A judge denied the visitation request by Wayne Sperling, 66, and Lorinda Bailey, 35. The couple was arrested in October, but are currently out on bond.

According to an arrest affidavit, the couple's four sons, all between the ages of 2 and 6, were found in deplorable conditions in a Denver home, starving and not toilet trained, communicating in grunts.

The affidavit paints an appalling image of what the boys were suffering through: 1 to 2 inches of cat and human feces under their beds, the hardwood floor soaked with urine. Flies buzzing all around the littered home.

The children were placed in protective care in October. Sperling and Bailey are facing four counts of felony child abuse charges.

Court records obtained by 11 News indicate that both suspects have been in trouble for child abuse before, first in 2006 and then again last year.

The records say that Sperling got off supervised probation for child abuse just two months ago, which typically means a probation officer should have been doing routine checks of the house.

The couple is scheduled to be in court for an arraignment in January of next year.
