A deceased Air Force Academy cadet has been identified, the Academy announced Monday.
Cadet 1st Class Matthew Patrick, 22, was found unconscious Friday morning, and rushed to Penrose where he later died.
Other cadets were notified of the death at lunch Friday.
Patrick was a native of Dallas, and studying aeronautical engineering.
"The Academy family is deeply saddened by the death of one of our own. Our heart-felt condolences go out to the family and friends of our cadet," Lt. Gen. Mike Gould, Superintendent of the Air Force Academy, said in a statement. "Our Air Force family is grieving this loss, and we are committed to helping the family through this extremely difficult time."
The cause of death remains under investigation.
