He's accused of murdering a man who, according to court documents, may have been having an affair with his wife. Bruce Nozolino made his first court appearance in an El Paso County courtroom Wednesday.

Earlier this month, a grand jury indicted Nozolino on charges of first degree murder and attempted murder. Later, an additional 5 counts of tampering with a witness were issued. The district attorney's office says the first degree murder and attempted murder charges will be one case and the tampering with a witness charges will be a separate case.

"The District Attorney takes the matter of tampering with a witness very seriously," said spokesperson Kathleen Walsh.

It was back in 2002 when police say Nozolino shot divorce attorney John Ciccolella. He was in charge of the divorce between Nozolino and his wife. Ciccolella lived.

In 2008, police say Nozolino shot and killed Richard Schreiner while Schreiner was shoveling snow outside a Colorado Springs home. Court documents state he may have been having an affair with Nozolino's wife.

During Wednesday's court appearance, a motions hearing was scheduled for August, 12.
