Forty-year-old Sergeant First Class Andre Ventura McDaniel was
found dead Saturday. The El Paso County coroner says McDaniel shot
himself in the head. Authorities arrested him August 20th in Canon City.

Investigators say McDaniel used the Internet to arrange sex with
a supposed 13-year-old girl -- who turned out to be an undercover
officer.

McDaniel faced numerous charges including sexual assault on a
child. The Army was also investigating McDaniel in the theft of
government cash in Iraq.

He was assigned to the Tenth Special Forces Group at Fort
Carson.
