City growth and increased call volumes could lead to a 50% expansion of the Colorado Springs Fire Department. That could mean as many as
11 new fire stations could be built in the next 20 years.
Battalion Chief Clark Stidham with the CSFD says the new additions will cover the fast growing parts of town, "certainly new growth areas, Northgate areas develop quickly, north Stetson Hills, off of Powers and Dublin. "
It's uncertain how much these new fire stations will cost or exactly where the money will come from.
City Council will hear about, and discuss the proposal in the fall.
