Attorneys in the Kobe Bryant sexual assault case hastily assembled behind closed doors in an Eagle County courtroom on Wednesday afternoon, amid reports prosecutors are dropping the felony charge against Bryant.
The Eagle County District Attorney's office will reportedly drop the case as early as Thursday---according to media outlets including MSNBC, ABC News and Court TV, all of whom cite unidentified sources.
Prosecution spokeswoman Krista Flannigan declined comment, as did attorneys for the 20-year-old alleged victim. Attorneys for Bryant have not returned calls seeking comment.
Attorney L. Lin Wood is handling the woman's civil suit against Bryant. He said that the federal suit against Bryant is intact, and there've been no discussions about a settlement. He declined to comment when asked about the criminal case.
