Mailroom Scare

What caused the evacuation of a local post office plus a lot of commotion Saturday? It turns out it was an antacid tablet.

The scare started when an employee complained about his hands swelling after handling an envelope with a mysterious white powder in it.

It caused county Sheriffs and FBI agents to evacuate the building for about 2 hours.

But it turns out the white powder was a crushed Tums tablet sent by an area inmate to his father as a joke.

The post office will re-open Monday.
