In the race for political contributions, Democratic Senate candidate Ken Salazar gets the decision over Republican rival Pete Coors.

Recent reports say Calazar has raised 3 times as much campaign money than his rival from PACS, or political action committees, representing issues, businesses, or other interests.

As of this month, Salazar raised $407 thousand from PACs while Coors raised $107 thousand.

Political analysts say they expect Coors to catch up in contributions by October.

They also say the money raised could hurt Salazar's image as being for special interests.
