Holiday Traffic Fatalities Up

(Denver-AP) -- Highway fatalities and drunken driving arrests in
Colorado were up this year over the Labor Day weekend.
The Colorado State Patrol says there were ten fatalities on
state highways over the holiday weekend, compared with five last
year.
Two other people died in traffic accidents in Westminster.
Three of the ten highway fatalities involved motorcycles, and
alcohol was suspected in another three. Six of the victims were not
wearing seat belts.
Statewide, transportation officials say at least 616 people were
arrested for driving under the influence, compared with 559 last
year.
