State Fair

Updated: Tue 9:45 PM, Sep 03, 2002

Total attendance figures for the 16-day festival show that
667-thousand-457 people made it to the fairgrounds in Pueblo to
ride the rides, sample the food or take in the music.
Last year, 637-thousand-and-98 people attended the Colorado
State Fair during its 17-day run.
Fair officials speculate that a troubled economy may have drawn
more people to the event by prompting them to stay in Colorado.
While attendance figure rose from last year, officials say
revenues may have fallen from normal levels as fairgoers resisted
the temptation to buy items from exhibitors.
