A Department of Corrections official says they now believe prison escapee Robert Dana has left the El Paso County area.
Dana broke out of the Arrowhead Correctional Facility early Monday morning. He was serving an 11-year sentence for sexual assault on a child in El Paso County.
The latest sighting came around 10:15 p.m. Thursday. Fountain police say a man fitting Dana's description stole a car from a female employee at the Walgreens on Fountain Mesa Road. The woman was not injured. The man took off in her 2000 dark blue Dodge Durango. It has a Colorado license plate of 867-GUZ.
On Wednesday night, a security guard at the south campus of Pikes Peak Community College found the stolen green and white Bronco investigators believe Dana used to get away from the prison. A man, who was sleeping inside the truck, took off. They believe that was Robert Dana.
If you have any information on Robert Dana’s whereabouts, call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP in Colorado Springs or 542-STOP in Pueblo.
