Pueblo police continue to mourn the unexpected loss of one of their own.

Before every shooting competition, expert marksman Captain Eddie Rhodes with the Pueblo police department would tell his teammates to prepare for glory. Many of his friends say despite his early exit from this world, he was prepared for the glory of the afterlife.

His funeral service was held in Pueblo on Saturday. Rhodes was remembered for all that he accomplished in his life and in his career.
After the service, his casket was driven through the streets that he protected in the early morning hours for 17 years. Tears fell as Pueblo police dispatched his last roll call.

Captain Eddie Rhodes died of a heart attack while jogging in Pueblo West. Many say he was one of the fittest members of the police force.
Rhodes leaves behind his wife, Vicky.

A true mentor. Lead by example. Cared for all that he watched over. The man you want round when the going got rough. Teacher, friend. One of Gods warriors. Will see him there watching over gods children. I will miss you Eddie.
