A Loveland dog breeder has lost her license after state inspectors found that several puppies froze to death at her facility.

The Colorado Department said this week that the license revocation means that dog breeder Storm Cloudin can't keep more than 15 dogs at her property south of Loveland called the Blue Wolf Ranch.

State animal inspectors say they discovered the frozen puppies Feb. 10. Cloudin maintains that she had been unaware that a new litter of puppies had been born.

Cloudin says she is capable of taking care of her animals.

Any dog breeder should know when puppies are due if they are expecting a litter. I'm a breeder of Collies and had a recent litter four weeks ago. I KNEW when my dam was due, always made frequent trips out to check on her and when the time came, since it was February then, I brought her inside to take care of her and her litter she had. There is absolutely no excuse and any justification of "I didn't know" is just that, an excuse. I think anyone would get what they deserved for something like this. Makes you wonder if someone truly is a breeder or a puppy mill, no matter how big or small.

I guess we should get ready for all the people who think this lady should be frozen as punishment. Where was the mother of the puppies while they were freezing? She should be held responsible for their death. Dogs have been having puppies for at least thousands of years, even in freezing weather.

This is just sickening. Any reputable breeder would know when puppies are due and would take the necessary steps to take the mother inside.
