Former President Bill Clinton is expected to help raise some $300,000 for a memorial to victims of the Columbine High School massacre. Clinton is scheduled to arrive in Colorado for two events planned for Tuesday---the fund-raising gala, and a book-signing in Denver.
Columbine Memorial Committee chairman Bob Easton says the group invited Clinton after the former president wrote a friend to ask how the Columbine memorial was coming. About 700 people and companies are on the guest list.
Easton says Clinton asked for, and will receive, some private time with family members of those who died in the attack. Two students killed 12 classmates and a teacher before killing themselves in 1999.
