A Colorado judge has ordered the younger brother of Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards to stand trial Nov. 29 on multiple counts listed in a 10-year-old warrant.
Wesley Blake Edwards, 39, pleaded innocent to the charges on Monday in an Arapahoe County courtroom. He was arrested in Colorado on Nov. 4, 1993 for allegedly driving under the influence, careless driving and driving without insurance. He was supposed to appear in court two months later to face the charges, but never showed up, until now.
The judge Monday released Edwards on $5,000 bond, and allowed him to return to North Carolina. The bond requires Edwards not to drink alcohol or drive without a license.
