a 32-year-old Westminster man told police he was standing at a light-rail station just after midnight when he saw a red dot on his shirt that looked like a laser gun sight. He yelled for others to get down. A 22-year-old Arvada man heard him yell and watched the red dot move to his own shirt. He says he saw the dot coming from a trailer park, then two flashes that appeared to be gunshots. No one was hurt.

Police say interviews with witnesses revealed that two boys, ages 15 and 18, had been playing with a laser pointer and another device that flashes.

Detectives say they're confident the incident was a prank, but the investigation continues.
