A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. Several inches of accumulation will be possible in areas where these bands develop. For more information click the ‘Weather’ tab...
Pueblo-area residents are being warned to stay out of Fountain Creek after some 62,000 gallons of sludge flowed into the water.
Officials say the sludge dumped into the creek when a valve in Colorado Springs was left open over the weekend. Utilities spokesman Steve Berry says the sewer-line valve was left open for about eight hours because of human error.
Health officials plan to test the site on Wednesday for any possible contamination problems.
