Snow and rain will continue to taper from north. Main roads should stay just wet overnight and through early Thursday. Secondary roads and any bridges and overpasses away from city warmth will be icy, so be careful. Locally dense fog will be an issue for the early morning too. Another wet and rainy day in Southern Colorado, but this time it was dangerous.
Emergency crews responded to a number of places in Colorado Springs that were under water, including some major traffic corridors.
A little after 4 p.m. Sunday, rain and hail covered the Powers intersection at Barnes where only the brave tried to get through. Police closed traffic down for about 20 minutes while the water receded.
The roads were reopened once the rain started slowing.
