With all the rain in recent days, public health workers urge homeowners to check their property for any standing water.

The moisture is a great breeding ground for mosquitoes who breed in standing water.

That's why, homeowners should make sure to empty water from flower pots, gutters, and anywhere else water can accumulate.

The El Paso County Health Hepartment will also be using larvicide to keep mosquitoes from reproducing in standing water.
