Colorado Springs remains on accident alert Monday night.

As the snow continues to fall in Southern Colorado, it is having an impact on travel.

Roads are icy in spots, especially on secondary streets and on bridges and overpasses. Most likely the situation will only get worse as temperatures drop and the streets refreeze.

"Oh yeah, there's plenty of slick spots out there," said Fountain resident Paul Whitmore.

"There's a lot more in the neighborhoods, but there's certain spots around town that even though they plow it and lay the sand down, no matter what they do, it just keeps icing over," said Whitmore.

Traffic along I-25 is moving along smoothly for the most part. Electronic signs line the interstate to warn drivers to slow down and take it easy.

"Drive at what you can handle, be safe," said Whitmore.

As for the Tuesday morning commute, I-25 should be in good shape. However, secondary streets and residential areas are going to be a problem. The best bet is to allow plenty of extra time wherever you're headed.
