The Regional Air Quality Council and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment issued an air quality alert for the Front Range through Tuesday afternoon. Hot temperatures, combined with clear skies, moderate winds and sunshine, increase ground level ozone concentrations throughout the region according to the experts.

Officials say ozone pollution can cause breathing problems and
respiratory infections in the elderly, the young and anyone with
pre-existing medical conditions. Symptoms include stinging eyes and throat, chest pains, couching and breathing difficulty.
