1 Missing Colorado Springs Man Found Alive in Haiti

Compassion International tells 11 News one of their two missing workers in Haiti has been found alive.

Dan Woolley of Colorado Springs was trapped in an elevator shaft of the Hotel Montana in Port-au-Prince. He was pulled from the rubble Friday. His wife, Christy, tells 11 News she lost hope last night but got the call at 5 a.m. Friday by the State Department that her husband is alive.

"I needed that phone call from the State Department. I thought last night he had probably died. I didn't think he could survive for three days buried in rubble," said Christy Woolley.

She's been told that he has minor injuries and is staying at the U.S. Embassy in Haiti. Compassion International is flying Christy to Miami to reunite with Dan.

"I just can't wait to have him back in my arms again and to hold him and to tell him I love him and how much I've missed him," said Christy Woolley.

The couple has two boys, 6-year-old Josh and 3-year-old Nathan. The boys will be staying home with their grandparents while Christy travels to Florida.

"So many people have died. Our hearts are breaking for them but we're so grateful in this case, he saved Dan's life," said mother-in-law Marti Schroeder.

The other man missing has been identified as David Hames. He is a contractor for Compassion International. His friends and family are holding on to hope that he will be sound be found.
