Thousands of people are missing and tens of thousands more are feared to be dead in the aftermath of the Haiti earthquake.
Two of the missing were from Colorado Springs. Dan Woolley and David Hames work for Compassion International. Update: Dan was rescued from the rubble of a collapsed building Friday. He is injured but will survive. Compassion International has still not hear from David Hames.
"We always hope for the best. We're a christian ministry," said Kathy Redmond, U.S. Communications Director for Compassion International.
They're hoping the two men weren't at their hotel when the quake hit because they've received conflicting reports that it has either been damaged or destroyed.
Other employees are in Haiti helping with the search.
"Everybody's just trying to hunt down our own people," said Redmond.
That's on top of keeping up with their normal responsibilities.
"We have almost 70,000 kids. It's one of the larger countries," said Redmond.
Accounting for the kids they work with at child development centers is even harder to do with some of their own workers missing.
"That's part of the problem, when you need to provide relief into that area and you need your employees to get that relief there," said Redmond.
So far, the only way they've been able to communicate with their workers on the ground in Haiti is through satellite phones and intermittent internet service.
