Colorado Springs police are investigating a shooting that happened at a Wal-Mart on Razorback Road at Academy Boulevard in Colorado Springs.
This all happened at around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday.
"I Heard a really loud bang and thought, gee, that couldn't have been a gunshot from the parking lot," said shopper Sam Humpert.
Apparently a Wal-Mart loss prevention officer tried to detain two suspected shoplifters near the north exit of the store. A fight broke out between the glass doors of the Wal-mart. That's when one of the suspects pulled out a gun and fired one shot into the ceiling.
"Nobody was hit, nobody was transported by ambulance from the scene," said CSPD spokesperson Sgt. Scott Schwall.
The two suspects then got away and drove off.
Police say the community is not in any danger.
It's still unclear what the alleged shoplifters were trying to take or if they got away with it.
Police have still not released a description of the suspects, but anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.

OMG this story is crazy!!! I worked at this store for 3 1/2 years... I hope everyone is ok! Can't wait to read the details...
Does anyone know the race of the shoplifter?
I must be an idiot and missing something - let me get this straight. The shoplifter and 'accidental gunman' has been seen by both witnesses and security cameras, yet the police do not want to give out a description. Am I an ignorant fool or...??
