Mike Jones Discusses Book, Haggard
The man who exposed his alleged relationship with former New Life Church pastor Ted Haggard, has a new book. Mike Jones says he spared no detail in the self-penned tell-all, in stores later this month.

Mike is a hero! Ted is a hypocrit, plain and simple! It is so sad that Mr. Haggard feels he is sooo evil. Gays/lesbians are not evil. They are people who deserve love, respect, privacy, intimacy and all of the benefits of married heterosexuals. I have been married to the same man for 30 years. Do you mean to tell me if gays can marry that somehow my marriage will be destroyed? If someone can come up with a firm confirmation that gay marriage will destroy the sanctity of marriage then I would like to meet that person! Total hogwash! I believe that Mr. Jones struggled long and hard (it is obvious by the tone of his book, which I just finished) before he came forward with this information. He states that he feels sadness for Mr. Haggard, his family and congregation. I have to say that he is a better person than I, because I think that Mr. Haggard is the evil one and feel no sorrow for him at all. Kudos to you Mike! I wish you all the happiness, love, and serenity that life can give you! You deserve it!

I am disappointed that Mike choose to write a "smut book" about the unnecessary details of personal acts between he and Ted which may or may not have actually happened. The truth is known by God, Ted and Mike alone. What bothers me most is the pain that this book will cause Ted's wife and children. I have known Ted to be one of the kindest men I have known and an awesome leader. I don't care what Ted has or has not done, I love him. I wish he were back here in the Springs, just being the person he is, forgiven, loved and accepted by all.

Ted Haggard is gay. He can be a gay Christian. Or a gay dad. But one thing is for sure - he is gay. I wish only the best for him, but gay people who think they are "evil" end up doing ridiculous things like snorting meth and having oral sex with prostitutes all night long. They end up betraying those they love, and they quickly turn into the demons they imagine themselves to be. This is the problem with gay oppression. I'm gay. I have a healthy sex life with a commited partner. I'm active in my community, and in several charities. Gay people have options for happy living. Ted Haggard should have been able to see that years ago. I don't applaud Mike Jones for writing a salacious book, but I applaud him for pointing out the truth.

Mike Jones himself said that When he visited New Life in Jan 2007 he was greeted warmly by staff and members alike. As a member myself I wish all of you with your negative comments would come by for a visit and let us all know how it goes. There is this little thing you should know about christians.... We love people no matter what their sins are!!! Why??? because we all have sin in our lives. It's about always trying to not sin the next time. Who decides what sin is? God just read your BIBLE. Yep it's in there!!!

I know from personal experience, that Ted Haggard has been, and is still being, punished with, HellFire. The 'struggle' Anthony (first post) mentions is the subject of a song on the "Saturday Night Fever" album, called "Disco Inferno." The 'fire' of sexual passion need not ever go out, as it is a state, not a process that must eventually end, like 'fire' as generally understood. Hence, it meets the definitional prerequisite of HellFire. For me, this HellFire became so hot, just after college graduation, my co-workers sensed the "radiation"! My first job was endangered, and I had to QUENCH. This hit just as "Disco Inferno" and "Saturday Night Fever" was hitting the radio waves. Talk about a Perfect Storm! Praise God, that He forgives. More recently, after seeing MS-NBC's "To Catch A Predator", I now THANK God that I am not afflicted with sexual passion for children, that at least mine is for an eager adult. So when I watch each new episode, it's to the music of "There But For The Grace Of God Go I". After that, I confronted many Christian organizations with the MUCH worse sin of the rampant child sex slave trade. After seeing a TV news special on this, my spirit was utterly screaming, WHERE IS THE BODY OF CHRIST?! My exhortations on this subject have been met with DEAFENING silence from the Christian organizations I have contacted. Talk about "straining at a gnat yet gulping a camel"! Jesus calls this 'Pharasaism'.

I am a gay man living in Colorado Springs and was born and raised here. I see Mike Jones just as bad as an religious organization that has ever damned my lifestyle. He is no better. He did not go public to help the gay community. He went public to help his fame and his wallet. Would any of us have wanted to be 'outed' this way? It disturbs me to think that he can write and book, make money, and gain fame over someone's personal life. Ted Haggard was struggling with himself, like all gay people have at one point, along with that he had the weight of representing our Lord and Savior. Doing both is a hard thing to do and somethign I also struggle with everyday. With understanding, love, and compassion this all could have turned out in a better way. Mike Jones is a horrible representation of the gay community, or movement, and what we represent. I wish more could see this.

Haggard was not against the gay community. Liberal Alexandra Pelosi spent plenty of time with him and declares he's not a Hater. I agree with Laura, Ted Haggard is Mike Jones' lottery ticket. Now he pretends to be an expert on Evangelical Christians.

I agree that Mike Jones is capitalizing on this situation. However, I applaud the fact that the hypocrisy of religious organizations is being exposed. All to often members of religious organizations tell people how to live and if the way you live it is not what they believe then you are a sinner! Maybe they should worry more about how they live and less about how other’s live and what they enjoy. Ted Haggard is now public proof of what religious organizations really are...JUDGEMENTAL HIPOCRITS!

I hope that NO ONE purchases his book. I do understand that what happened was wrong, but why should this man make money on the book. Is he writting a book about everyother relationship he has had? No it is because he knows he MIGHT make money. Go for round 50, it is only your own fault that you have to do round 50. I totally agree what ted was wrong, but hey the Lord FORGIVES US OF OUR SINS, SHOULDN'T WE FORGIVE HIM?

I totally agree with Stephanie and I feel New Life church is pathetic and tasteless and they make tons of money.

I think the idea of this book is disgusting. For Mike to print details of what happened is just as horrible as someone actually wanting to read those details. See it for what it is--a pathetic and tasteless way for Mike to make money from this situation.

That church's view of the gay community is hypocritical and makes me sick. It's fantastic to see him go for round 50 and have the nation's attention.

I applaud Mike for his honesty. I don't think it was right at all for Haggard to do what he did. You don't get to denounce a certain group of people and then go do the very thing that you are denouncing. It doesn't work that way. There's is absolutely nothing wrong with homosexuality and I'm saying this as a heterosexual. If you're gay, then you're gay. Big deal. Don't be a hypocrit about it. Congratualtions Mike!
