Gerald Ford's Golf Clubs, Other Items To Be Auctioned

Former President Gerald Ford's golf clubs, skis, cowboy hats and other personal items from his Colorado home will be auctioned off to benefit three projects.

Guernsey's auction house says the July 7 the auction includes engraved crystal, American flags and books among the 511 lots.

The items are from the home that Ford and his wife, Betty, owned in Beaver Creek, near Vail.

The former president died December 26th at age 93.

Betty Ford is now 89. She was released from a California hospital in April after surgery for an undisclosed problem.

New York-based Guernsey's said on its Web site the auction will benefit the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens near Vail; a planned O-K Corral Camp for seriously ill children; and the Eagle River Scholarship Fund, which provides financial aid for needy students to attend post-secondary school.

The auction will be in Beaver Creek.
