It's a mixed bag when it comes to rating the state's traffic rules.

A survey of nationwide traffic laws by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety finds Colorado has a lot to improve on.

The survey evaluates criteria such as DUI', young driver licensing, and safety belt use.

Colorado rated "poor" in motorcycle helmet use and "marginal" in safety belt use. But the state rated "fair" in DUI's and young driver licensing. The state ranked "good" in child restraint and red-light camera use.

The states with the weakest laws? Montana and Wyoming. California, Georgia, and Washington D.C. have the strongest laws.
