A company that makes custom bank checks, address labels and similar products announced it's bringing as many as 100 jobs to Colorado Springs this year.
The parent company of Checks Unlimited is shutting down a similar operation in Alabama and moving the work to Colorado. Most of the hiring is planned between August and October.
Parent company Deluxe has shed 750 jobs since 2000. The new hiring plans come after 75 layoffs in Checks Unlimited's printing and order-processing operations this year.
It's the latest company to announce new jobs in Colorado Springs. Three companies say they plan to hire nearly 800 people in the next year. They include USAA Insurance, the California State Automobile Association and Computer Generated Solutions.
