Fort Carson soldier killed in Iraq

Iraqi insurgents killed a soldier assigned to the military police battalion at Fort Carson.

The Pentagon announced that 21-year-old Private First Class Roy Jones of Houston died after being hit by small arms fire on Thursday in Diwaniyah.

He was assigned to the 984th Military Police Company, 759th Military Police Battalion.

At least 201 soldiers from Fort Carson have died since the war began in March 2003.
