A box cutter found by a passenger on-board an United Airlines plane delayed a Denver to Dallas flight for nearly two hours.
Federal officials met the plane on the tarmac, re-screened all the passengers and searched the plane. Flight 490 was taxiing toward a runway at about 12:30 pm yesterday when the passenger found the cutting instrument.
Box cutters were used by terrorist to hijack planes on September 11th.
Transportation Security Administration officials say there are more layers of security now that in 2001, including armed pilots and armed federal marshals.
Airline spokeswoman Megan McCarthy declined to speculate on where the box cutter may have come from.
