State Park Fees Plan Scrapped

Lawmakers opposed the increases because under the Taxpayers'
Bill of Rights, the state cannot afford to increase revenue next
year without making cuts somewhere else.

Department executive director Russ George delivered a letter
yesterday to state lawmakers that said there would be no fee
increase after all. It was signed by Parks Director Lyle Laverty.
