The average price of regular gasoline in the U.S. has dropped 3.64 cents over a two-week period to $2.65. That's according to the national Lundberg Survey of fuel prices released today.

Analyst Trilby Lundberg says the average price for a gallon of mid-grade was $2.78. Premium was at $2.89.

Cheyenne, Wyo., had the lowest price among cities surveyed at $2.38 a gallon for regular. Anchorage was the highest at $3.30.

In southern Colorado, many drivers are paying on par, and slightly higher than the nation's lowest priced gas. In Colorado Springs, the lowest price Sunday for mid-grade gas was at King Soopers on N. Union. Mid-grade gas there sold for $2.44 per gallon. However, drivers can find regular-grade fuel in Colorado Springs for between $2.32 - $2.38.

Meanwhile, folks in Pueblo are paying a bit more for regular-grade gas: on average, about $2.46 per gallon.
