The girlfriend of the cab driver who was shot and killed in downtown Colorado Springs speaks to 11 News.

Zoanna Tyma says she was completely shocked when she heard that her boyfriend 53 year-old Terry Lee Wilson had been shot and killed.

“I just could not believe that happened, I still can't believe he's gone," said Zoanna.

Colorado Springs Police say they believe Wilson was the target of random gunfire.

“It is believed at this point that there were 2 groups of people exchanging gunfire. We believe the cab driver was heading south on Wahsatch and was probably struck by a stray bullet," said Sal Fiorillo, a detective with the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Zoanna says Wilson loved being a cab driver and looked forward to meeting new people each day.

"He was just that type of person, everybody loved him. He was funny, he was fun and he made me laugh a lot," she said.

A family left devastated by the news that their loved one was just simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"I just wish he'd walk through the door right now and say this is all a nightmare, because that’s what this is, I'm living a nightmare."

Terry Wilson leaves behind four kids. And as of Thursday night police had no suspects and very few leads in the case.
