A 14-year-old Colorado Springs girl has died after an accident on an intermediate trail at Breckenridge Ski Resort.
Summit County Coroner Joanne Richardson says witnesses reported seeing Haley Rose Gans skiing very fast into a tree Friday. Richardson says the cause of death appears to be related to blunt force trauma to the chest.
The resort says ski patrol was summoned to the trail at 11:48 a.m. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The resort said she was wearing a helmet.
Breckenridge opened for the season Nov. 12.

Much more appropriate. Thank you.
Thank you for changing the headline, whoever posted the first one is disgusting.....
Definitely not trying to be rude, I feel for this girls family but it gets annoying when ppl are like" oh, you're from colo/spgs you must ski or snow board..." nope, not me!I do take some risks riding on motor cycles but one of my good friends from high school broke both of his wrist's snow boarding in 9th grade... so the desire I once had to learn how to snow board left me real quick.
