First Lady Michelle Obama joins a list of famous faces in Colorado Monday. She's in the Mile High City to promote the White House's leadership and mentoring initiative.

She's meeting with national and local women leaders at the governor's mansion for a luncheon discussion. Mrs. Obama told young women in Denver that they're in charge of their own future and they're already on the right track for success.

She continued by saying she never imagined when she was their age that she'd be standing there in front of them as the First Lady. She says she was just always told to be involved, work hard and stand up straight.

Following lunch, Mrs. Obama will visit South High School.

Actresses Susan Saradon, Alfre Woodard, and Fran Drescher are in Denver as well visiting children at a number of other schools in the metro area.

The goal is to inspire young women to excel.

Michelle buys from the rack, are you nuts? Are you there shopping with Michelle? I guess the wanna be 1st ladies your speaking of were white. You seem to have a real problem with color, which is not an issue. I'll say it again we women do not need a 1st lady, prevous 1st ladies, movie stars and rappers to excel in this world. Black or white, As far as priveged white class, all or most of those poor oppressed people you are speaking of have cell phones and drive nice cars and smoke dope or sell it. You have no idea what poor is unless you've walked in those barefeet.

Michele way to play the race card. You are truly ignorant.

Note the two negative comments are from males (probably of the more privileged white class) who are obviously clueless about the struggles women have had and continue to have. Statistically, a white woman with a college degree still makes less than a white man with a high school degree. Then start adding in the darkness in skin factor and see what you get. If you are truly interested in the best use of tax dollars, which do you think makes more sense; Welfare or education; schools or prisons? And when the oppressed “have not” groups become more and more desperate, who do you think they’ll come after? It’s time to start looking at the state of things from a macro (big world) perspective and stop creating more negativity with little personal agendas. …and Michelle buys straight from the rack-not designer labels like so many other former and “wanna be” first ladies and VP candidates. And Angel, I didn't see any knock at you from Connie. You are fortunate to have the options you do.
