Sergeant Brad Rokicki was on base when Major Nidal Hasan opened fire at Fort Hood.

Rokicki was a member of the 2nd brigade combat team 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson. During his third deployment to Iraq he suffered a traumatic brain injury when a rocket exploded 30 feet from him. After recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Rokicki was ended up at Fort Hood. While at Fort Hood, Major Hasan was Rokicki's psychiatrist on the weekends, helping him deal with post traumatic stress disorder.

Vietnam veteran, and friend of the Rokicki's, Claude "Butch" Chavez said yesterday's attack was an emotional bombshell for Rokicki. "He has taken if very hard that he opened it up to this guy, and I would imagine what's going through his head right now is, that doctor could have pulled out a gun from his desk and blown him away," Chavez said.

Rokicki is about to begin the medical discharge process with the Army. The process could take between six months and two years.

The American Legion Riders and the SOLDIERS' ANGELS" network are grateful for your service Brad. Sometimes we forget the huge sacrifices the families of these soldiers endure. We have met Mrs. Rokicki and she is one of the strongest people I've every met. They say Army wives are as tough as there soldier husbands and they are. We were very grateful to be of service to the Rokicki family in their time of need. Thank God you both are safe. If anyone would like to help this family I'm storing their washer and dryer and if anyone would like to purchase these items it would be of great help to this family. Just email me if you are interested
