A powerful spring storm that could bring parts of Colorado almost as much moisture as last spring's paralyzing blizzard has started dropping rain and snow across the state.
Steady rain has been falling in Grand Junction, where some snow
is forecast tonight. Snow is also falling in te mountains.
The National Weather Service has posted a winter storm warning for much of the RockyMountains from Wyoming to New Mexico.
A weather service meteorologist says the storm is on par with last spring's storm in terms of available moisture.
Snow accumulations could range from about six inches in Colorado Springs, to 15 inches in the Sangre de Cristo mountains in southern Colorado, to nearly 18 inches in some areas of western Colorado.
