A Colorado Springs teen is in trouble with the law because he reportedly crashed into a parked car. Authorities say two men were working on that car when the teen rammed into it.
The accident happened on the 2800 block of Richmond Dr. which is near Constitution Ave. and Peterson Rd. in Colorado Springs on Sunday afternoon.
The teen reportedly told authorities that his phone rang and when he tried to pick it up, it fell. When he tried to grab the phone again, he lost control of his car and crashed.
The two men who were working on the car were injured and taken to the hospital, but are said to be okay.
The teen was ticketed for careless driving.
A new Colorado law will go into affect on December first that will prohibit anyone under the age of 18 from using their phones at all while driving.

Give cell phone uses the same penalty as drunk drivers. It is just as dangerous, hands free or not.
Cell phones in general have gotten ridiculous!! I see little 10 year old kids with their heads down checking their messages, oblivious of the world around them. Some woman in the grocery store actually ran into me with her cart because she was too distracted and busy on her cell phone! Didn't even bother to say sorry or excuse me, just kept talking away. Aren't people self-centered and self-absorbed enough?? As for Kate and her friends who "all talk and text while driving," I'm sure there are some from her generation, maybe not many, but some, who aren't as ignorant of the risks and who do care.
All my friends talk and text while driving. Unless the police pull them over and give them a ticket, they don't care. It is not going to stop stop - UR wasting UR time with this generation.
